- RUNNING in a ZIG ZAG :: So I had a friend tell me it's most effective to run in a zig zag pattern and since I've been wondering if this is true. Yes, most animals don't run in straight lines, this is often to steer away from predators, but interesting to note. Today on my run I tried the zig zag for the entire run and enjoyed it, less monotonous. Good sports training as well, makes you more effective at changing directions, speed, agility and also engages more lateral muscles. Don't think I'll zig zag every time I run, but I recommend it for changing up you're routine and the added challenge.
- DETOX YOUR LYMPHATIC system & SWIM :: I heard that swimming for an hour is equivalent to an hour lymph massage- so I did some research. Our lymph system is the body's "drainage" or even "sewer" system, basically you don't want it clogged. It’s your secondary circulation system and runs right along side your body’s network of veins and arteries, except it doesn’t carry blood, it carries a clear liquid called lymph fluid. Swimming helps move and drain the lymph system which is one of the reasons you feel so hungry afterwards. The movement of the water against the body assists the movement of the lymph and blood and stimulate muscle and skin movement without stressing other body parts. No wonder you feel so good after a swim, GO get in the WATER!
- ADD some OIL TO your GREEN JUICE :: why? Because many of the vitamins and minerals in green juice are fat soluble, so add so omega, flax, coconut oil or whatever suits your fancy (personally don't like the taste of olive oil in my juice). It will give you a nice even energy release so you don't absorb the sugars too quickly. It tastes good too!!
