“Atwill Pilates is the real deal. I cannot begin to express just how on point this Santa Barbara studio is. The trainers are incredibly passionate about what they do and fully committed to their client needs. I began training with Colleen in 2010. I was a tad intimidated by the core-focused workout, but under Colleen’s fun-loving and spirited instruction I quickly fell under her Pilates spell. I am totally hooked to this day and crave Pilates. There is always a comfortable and uplifting ambiance when I walk in the studio and I leave feeling challenged, connected and more informed about my body. My mind, body and spirit have benefited greatly from training at Atwill.”

ATWILL PILATES is named after Colleen’s late grandmother Louise Weigel, fondly known as "Honey." She competed twice in the Olympic games - 1932 in Lake Placid and 1936 in Germany (along with her sister Estelle.) She was inducted into the sports hall of fame in Buffalo, NY in 2018.

Although Colleen never had the opportunity to meet Honey, her figure skating prowess and legacy as a great sportswoman is something she has always aspired to. Colleen chose to pursue figure skating as a young girl in homage to Honey and often wore skating outfits sewn by her great grandmother to the rink. Honey was an excellent skier, tennis player, golfer and had a special affinity for classical ballet. Colleen is certain her love for movement and all things active was passed down from Honey’s bloodline. She imagines Honey would be a regular at ATWILL since Pilates is indispensable cross training to any avid athlete.
